Jesus’ Faith

This evening while communing with the Word, I realised something about faith.

I have always been told that faith by definition is to act upon something without first seeing the evidence. In reality I guess I have always felt like faith was acting on something I intellectually agreed with but had not yet experienced.

But then it struck me that Jesus walked in faith and yet his faith was not acting based on something he intellectually knew to be true. And while he did do things that no one had ever seen before, he says that the works I do are not my own but they are the Father working through me.

For Jesus, walking in faith was simply the natural outworking of his identity and authority which he had received from and in Father.

So for me to walk in Jesus’ faith is to receive and experience from and in Father the fullness of my identity and authority and to do what naturally flows from that.
