Revival of the heart

Lately I’ve been listening to a number of teachings speaking about revival. It occurred to me that the understood definition of revival was a place that was having an outpouring of the spirit where signs and wonders were occurring and this place was usually church building and /or gathering of people.

When we look at Jesus in the scriptures, we see that when he performs a miracle such as the feeding of the 5,000, he then goes on to say to the crowds who followed truly you are seeking after me because you ate the bread but you did not see the sign. Later he goes on to explain and reveal the sign that he is the bread of life and that unless you eat His flesh you have no part in him. Subsequently the crowds leave him. However his close disciples remain.

In fact the Revival that Jesus is looking for took three years of close interaction with Jesus to begin. The Revival that Jesus is looking for is a revival of her heart. There are many illustrations that describe it from dry bones coming to life, the Dead Rising, the blind seeing. These are all examples of the heart being revived to life. Life abundant, rivers of Living Water spring to eternal life.

Jesus said that a wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign. That’s because when we are living by The Tree of the knowledge of good and evil we seek proof of right doctrine and correct teaching. But to see the signs we must see them in our hearts. And a sign always reveals the heart of The Father and when our hearts truly see, we will experience his truth.

I’m praying for Revival.
